BSA is another way of stating English threading. The initialization comes from Birmingham Small Arms, which made bicycles. English threading on road bikes mean a 68mm wide, 34mm inside diameter shell with reverse threading on the drive side. It's the most common threaded standard employed today. PF30A is a Cannondale-specific standard for their 73mm-wide bottom bracket shells. This CeramicSpeed kit makes it possible to install Shimano and other 24mm diameter cranks into a Cannondale frame. CeramicSpeed Bearings come installed in two cups and are connected through the shell via a spacer tube. It's available with either Standard or Coated Bearings. Both have super-round CeramicSpeed Balls and hardened-steel races. The CeramicSpeed Coated bearings have an additional attribute: a 3-micron-thick metallic layer over the races. This addition makes the races harder and smoother, lowering drag and increasing life. The unique PF30A shell is 73mm wide with a 46mm diameter.
